I love Harvest Moon! I have Another Wonderful Life, Friends of Mineral Town, Tree of Tranquility, and just now I've ordered Magical Melody. Considering that they have at least one version for nearly every system fathomable, I've only started to dip my paw into the Harvest Moon legacy. My very first one that I played was A Wonderful Life (which I rented) and then I bought Another Wonderful Life. A time afterwords I got Friends of Mineral Town which I played three years into. Magical Melody is in the mail! I'm intrigued by the diversity of potential spouses, but the fact that your child stays a toddler permanently puts me off a little. Anyways, what I have here (or will soon have here) is a variety of fanfictions, links to HM related sites, my personal opinions on the games, and artwork. Have a look ere you go.

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town fanfic
[Info:
I started this game in the sixth or seventh grade when my friend Emily and one of my crushes, Tyler, were going out. I named my character Tyler and decided he's going for Elli (seeing any similarities?).
I badmouth the Doctor, but in every game where I play as a girl I fall for him right away...]
Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life fanfic
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody fanfic
Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility fanfic: 3+1=? (potential yaoi warning!)
[Julius: "What might look like a woman at first is actually a conceited
pretty-boy who fancies himself a fashion expert. He enjoys carving
metal, making jewelry and greatly enjoys being the center of attention.
He is known for being a bit self-centered because of his strong sense
of beauty."
He's a true fashionista! Gracie would grovel at his feet if Animal
Crossing and Harvest Moon met. Man, now I have to turn that into a
fanfic! Anyways, Julius is very appealing to me because he's so funny!
It comes from being extraordinarily self-centered, I suppose. I see him
as a seme because he's so forward in getting what he wants.
Toby:
Toby is a relaxed fisherman who takes my view on life that if life
gives you lemons, don't let it bug you and go do something you enjoy.
Personally, I envision Toby as an artist instead of a fisherman, so
that may be what he is in my fanfics. Toby looks like a cross between
Ichimaru from Bleach and Near from Death Note, as sick as that would be
-having very
bad mental images-. But don't let that put you off; Toby is very
attractive despite his...questionable lineage. Oh dear, I feel a very
bad yaoi crossover fanfic urge coming on... The way I imagine Toby's
love life attitude is Soubi's from Loveless. I see Toby as a seme
because he seems to be the type that's practiced in the ways of the
world.
Gill: The first time I saw his name I accidentally called him Jill, so that's his nickname for me. My, that would help him if he were an uke... When you really get to know him, you see that Jill (Gill) is a cute, sweet, shy guy. Thus, I proclaim him an official uke. Anyhow, he's only son of Mayor Hamilton. He's conceited and arrogant, but, like his father, wants to see the island grow and feels that he must help. He feels that a good education and having lots of money are very important. He intrigues me mainly because he's being a snot. For some reason that makes me want to catch his attention all the more. Well, that, and I think he's cute^^
Jin: Jin works at the Meringue Clinic, in Waffle Town. He's almost always located at the Clinic, from 8 till 5 or later. His favorite food is Miso Soup. He lives on the far east side of the Maple Lake District. Jin is a fairly easygoing guy. Don't tell anyone, but the first time I went mining I passed out just to land at the clinic and talk to Jin ^^; And maybe I did that a few more times...and maybe I still do...teehee. I envision Jin as a seme. He's calm and gives the air of being in charge, so I think he'd make a nice seme.
Hrrm...so we have Jin, Juli, and Toby as semes and poor Jill as the only uke. Oh noes, this can't end well...]
3+1=? Ch. 1
“I’m sorry,
Julius, but I’m not impressed. Go be…yourself somewhere else…” Gill growled,
throwing Juli’s ruffly, expensive shirt back at him and pointing to the door.
“Hmph. You’ll
turn any day now, I’m sure. Oh, and I’d loose that hideous excuse for capris.
They do belong in the garbage, my naïve Jill,” sighed Julius as he delicately
replaced his shirt and picked up his radio that was still blaring “I’m Too Sexy”.
His attempt to woo Gill (or Jill, as Juli enjoyed calling him) by bursting in,
half naked, sexy music playing, had apparently failed.
“Why is it
that everyone thinks I’m gay?!” cried Gill once Julius had left the Mayor’s
house. “A lot of nerve that man has, intruding in my house and expecting me to
melt into his arms. Bah..”
Just down
the road, Doctor Jin was just closing the clinic for the evening when Julius
strolled up to him.
“I failed.
It’s your turn, Doc,” sneered Juli.
“Julius,
what did you do this time?” Jin sighed.
“Oh, I’m
sure you’ll hear all about it,” Julius smiled as he turned away.
“What will
we do with that man?” grumbled Jin to himself, shaking his head, and he started
towards Gill’s house casually. Jin was leaning against a building across from
the Mayor’s house, pretending to watch a wild sparrow, when Gill came outside.
Jin noticed his distrought face and gave him a curious look.
“Are you
okay, Gill? You haven’t been overworking yourself, have you?” he asked, knowing
very well the real reason for the young man’s stress.
“No, it’s
something else…” Gill muttered, glancing away.
“Do you want
to talk about it? Talking will make you feel better…”
“Hmm, nah…”
“Come on, we’ll
take a little walk. You don’t have to talk if you don’t want to, but I assure
you that it’ll help,” suggested Jin, leading Gill out of town by the arm.
They
strolled all over the island, and eventually Gill began to loosen up. He explained
the Julius incident to Jin, who told him that there was no changing a man like
Juli and it was probably better if he could focus on the more pleasant points
of the day. After that, Gill opened up a little. They began to talk of their
own interests and ideas. When the moon started to peek over the horizon, the
two went to the tree in town with the green flower.
“For me?
Thank you, Jin!” Gill exclaimed when Jin offered him some tomato juice.
“Of course.
It’s getting late, so we aught to be off to bed. Good night, Gill,” smiled Jin.
“Good night,
Jin,” Gill replied. He watched Jin’s silohette evaporate into the night and headed
home for a good night’s rest.
“Jin one,
Julius zero,” smirked Jin when he reached his house.
“He didn’t
confess anything, did he?” Juli’s voice echoed from around the corner of Jin’s
house.
“Julius, go
home. I don’t appreciate you stalking me, or the boy either. You could at least
pretend to happen on him by accident instead of tresspassing in his house and full-out
begging for sex. And no, he didn’t say he was homosexual, or that he even liked
anyone at all. Now go away,” Jin barked to the night.
“Oh, come
on, Doc. I got him to you like that so you could proceed to make up for what I
did. I think I deserve a little reward for that. How about we get together
tonight?” asked Julius, sauntering from around the house.
“No,”
replied Jin stiffly, “I deserve better than you. You’re nothing but a pathetic
waste of flesh and a worthless beggar. I shall not waste my time on you, of all
people.”
“I'm too
sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it huuuurts,” Julius began to
sing sensually, blocking the doorway.
“I said GO
HOME!” roared Jin, finnaly loosing his cool, superior air.
“Jeeze, I’m
going, I’m going,” Juli groaned, stepping aside. “Good nigh—”
SLAM!
The door practically nicked Julius’ model nose. Heaven forbid. Juli slunk back to his house, grumbling all the way about how some people were in a sour mood tonight.
Ch.

Toby rested
against the sturdy tree next to his house and reminisced on the night he agreed
to this.
“Hahaha, -hic- so do yaaa guys figure bushel
britches is gay?” hiccupped an intoxicated Toby. He was sitting at a table in
the Sundae Inn, surrounded by an equally drunk Julius and Jin.
“Whooo, Ramsey the bllllcksmmmmth?” Jin slurred.
“E’s got a granddaughter, eeeediot…Jeezeee yer
druuunk...” Julius laughed and nearly fell out of his chair.
“Hammy’s boy, guuuys. Whaziz name ‘gain?” Toby
mumbled.
“Uhhhhhhn, Gull?” guessed Jin.
“Oooh, oooh, ohhh, you’re talkin’ bout Jill!”
Julius exclaimed enthusiastically.
“Mmmya, somin’ like that…Annnnnnnnnnyways…why
don’ we fin’ -hic- out?”
“Hullllllllll, why not?” Jin smiled drunkenly. “Afer
all, we’re gay, so ‘eee might be too…”
“Thun let’s swear we’ll fin’ out! Genlemen, pu
out yer arms. I’mma gunna marrrk ur arms wid’ dis pen, and as long as yev got the
mark you swear to work towwwwwards fin’ing out,” Julius slurred and took out a permanent
marker. He made a very rough, shaky mark that somewhat resembled Gill’s head on
each of the mens’ arms. “An’ if he is, it’s first come first serrrrve.”
“Ay.”
“Yuuuup.”
Toby shook
his head clear of the memory when he saw Gill sauntering dignifiedly up the
dirt road, right on schedule. He had witnessed Jin and Julis’ efforts yesterday
so he had a general idea of what he’d do to try to outdo both of them.
“Hey, Gill,”
called the fisherman.
“Hello,
Toby. The fish biting today?”
“Actually,
this time I’m painting a picture of them. Would you like to see?”
“I’m a
little busy today, sorry. Important business and all that… You haven’t seen
Julius or Jin around lately, have you?”
“No, I haven’t.
Why?” wondered Toby inconspicuously.
“It’s just
that those two have been acting really strangely lately. Not that I’m worried
or anything, it’s just that I wouldn’t want Jin to fall behind in his work.”
“I see. So
can I be of any help?”
“No, I have
everything under control. Thanks anyways,” Gill smiled and went on his way.
“You’re not
doing a very good job, Toby,” Julius called from the branches of the tree as
soon as Gill was gone.
“Time. You
can’t rush things like this. Gradually I’ll become closer and closer to him.
Perhaps if you wouldn’t try to force him, he might like you.”
“Oh, what do
you know? If I’m persistent he’ll have to give in sooner or later.”
“Or he’ll
start to hate you. I’m going to be slow and gentle in order to win his trust.”
“Man,”
Julius said absentmindedly, “I’d give my left ball for a night with that kid. I’d
break him so hard…”
“You’d have
to have a ball to give first...” snickered Toby under his breath.
“I heard
that!” Juli snarled, leaping out of the tree and landing squarely on top of
Toby’s painting.
“My
painting!”
“My clothes!”
“Now you’ve
done it…” growled Toby. He snatched up Julius by the back of the shirt and
hurled him into the small lake. Juli gasped and sputtered as the cold water
drenched his finely tailored clothes. “That’ll get the paint off…”
“Why, you…!”
“Shhh! He’s
coming back! Hide in the tree!” whispered Toby urgently. Just as Juli’s wet foot
made its way inside the leaves, Gill appeared at the top of the path. Toby hid
his painting under a nearby bush.
“I had some
extra time so I thought I’d come see the painting.”
“Sorry, but
I finished it already and put it away,” Toby replied quickly.
“Well, can’t
I go to your house and see it?” Gill asked.
“My house is
a mess right now, so I’d rather we didn’t… It’s hard to keep house when you
live alone, you know.” That has got to be
the worst lie I’ve ever told, Toby thought to himself.
“Hmm, that’s
too bad...” Gil frowned. I didn’t think
Toby really cared what his house looked like…
“Anyways, if
you have some free time I thought we could go to the waterfall,” suggested
Toby.
“Sure. Let’s
go,” replied Gill and the two left for the Caramel Waterfall.
Once there,
Toby instructed to Gill sit so the setting sun behind him made the waterfall
caramel-colored and he pulled out a canvas, his faithful brush, and some paint.
“I’m going
to paint you so try not to move, okay? And the only color of paint I have with
me is this orange-brown.”
“I can’t
wait to see it!”
Toby’s brush
flew over the canvas swiftly; he hoped he would be able to capture the moment
before the sun sank below the horizon. Gill kept very still during the painting
except for an occasional comment about how calm it was here.
When he had
finished, Toby signed the painting and turned it towards Gill.
“Wow! It looks
like the whole scene is in caramel! You did a fine job, Toby,” Gill smiled,
standing and stretching.
“I call it ‘Caramel
Dreams’. Do you want it?” offered Toby.
“I-I couldn’t!
It’s so nice, and you put your heart into it. It’s your painting...”
“It’s a
painting of you, after all. I painted it for you, but if you don’t want it…”
“No,” Gill
said quickly, “thank you. I really do like it.” The young man admired the
painting a little more and put it away.
They sat
together, listening to the sounds of nature until the moon rose. Gill thanked
Toby once more and went home. Toby was still relaxing there when Julius entered
the clearing in front of the waterfall.
“Hmph. I
have to hand it to you, he did seem pretty open towards you. Well, it’s my turn
tomorrow. Wish me luck,” sighed Juli. He swept by and brushed the fisherman’s
waist with his fingertips before retreating to his home.

“Meet me at the
waterfall at midnight tonight,” Gill read. “Love, you-know-who.” What in the
world?! This mysterious letter had been on his bed when he got back from the
town hall at five ‘o clock the day after going to the waterfall with Toby. “Love”?!
Who loved him, of all people?
Gill decided
to get to the bottom of this by meeting with the sender of the letter. That
night he would confront whoever it was and ask them what was up with the guys
starting to be all friendly to him all of a sudden and without apparent reason.
Meanwhile,
someone was camping out under the waterfall, awaiting the arrival of a certain young
man…
Midnight
rolled around and Gill marched to Caramel Waterfall. He stepped into the empty
clearing and looked around. Suddenly, a blurred shape tackled Gill to the
ground. His blue Capri’s were being forced off of him! A heavy body was pinning
Gill to the ground; the best he could manage was a feeble attempt at struggling
as his sweater vest and then his shirt were torn from him. The other form’s
naked body pressed warm against him. He let out a half whimper, half cry when
he felt a sharp pain.
“Mmm, yes,”
a voice hissed from on top of him. “Make that sweet little sound again, pet.”
That was
Julius’ voice!
“J-Julius!
St-top!” whimpered Gill desperately. “A-ah!!” he yelped when he felt the pain
again.
“Ooooh, now
that’s what I live for. Let’s do that one again…”
“Gah! N-no!
Please, Julius!”
“Hmm?”
murmured Juli, “Do you want to be on top? I don’t think you have it in you, pet.”
“Julius, let
me go!” Gill howled, thrashing wildly. Julius took up a position of sitting on
Gill’s back and asked, “Now, why would I do that? We’re having so much fun…”
“No, I-I’m
not. I’ll tell my father about this, and you’ll—”
“I’ll what? Get
a time-out? What if I run away with you, sweet little boy toy, and we never
come back? What then?” Juli smirked.
“T-t-then...”
stuttered Gill.
“Then
nothing happens and I get you to play with for the rest of your life.
Fortunately for you, I made a little deal with Jin and Toby. If you’re gay,
then I get to keep you. If you’re straight then I have to let you go. I’ve
never been a man to go back on his word…”
“WHAT?! That’s
what this has all been about all along?! My sexual orientation?!” shrieked
Gill.
“Uh-huh. The
nice two have been in on this the whole time, too. Sorry to break you. Oh wait,
that’s what I meant to do all along…” Julius smiled lasciviously. “Shall we
proceed…?”
“H-hang on a
second!! I haven’t told you anything!”
“The sounds
you were making sure told me you enjoyed it,” sighed Juli, licking the edge of
Gill’s ear and running his hands down the boy’s sides and over his buttocks.
“Ieegh!”
shuddered Gill. Juli responded with a shudder of ecstasy. He flipped Gill onto
his back and held his shoulders to the grass while the powerfully lustful man
ran his tongue down Gill’s thin stomach to the base of his erection. Juli
clamped on and began to suck.
“A-aieek!
Get o-off!!” shouted Gill, kicking Julius’ chest. The impact was so sudden and
unexpected that Julius fell away. Gill snatched his clothes and took off
running. He impulsively entered the first house he noticed in his blind fear.
“G-Gill?! What
in the world?!” Jin cried as Gill barreled through his door, naked and his face
streaked with tears.
“J-J-J—”
whimpered Gill.
“Husssh…calm
down. I just made myself some tea, I’ll get you some too.”
-a few
minutes later-
“That’s
terrible! You poor boy… Well, you’re welcome to stay here for the night, Gill.
I’ll explain everything to the Mayor tomorrow morning, but it’s too late for
you to be wandering about, especially if he
is still out there…” Gill instinctively flinched at the thought. “Oh, sorry…”
Jin apologized quickly. “Don’t worry, I’ll fend him away if he’s stupid enough
to wander in this direction. I swear that he’ll not touch you ever again, even
if it means my life. I cannot stand men
like him who take advantage of young men like you,” the doctor snarled. “I’m on
the verge of going out and killing him myself, but then I’d be the one breaking
the law. Regardless, I will be awake the rest of the night. If you need
anything, anything at all, please do not hesitate to ask.”
“Thanks,”
Gill sniffled, “for everything.”
“No bother
at all. Just try to get a good night’s rest, okay?”
“Okay.
Goodnight, Doctor Jin.”
“Please, call me Jin. Good night, Gill. Sweet dreams.” Jin tucked Gill into his bed and kissed his forehead gently. He then sat at the edge of the bed, glancing from the door to the sweetly sleeping boy. He began to grow weary around four ‘o clock and reclined next to Gill in the bed, always keeping an eye on the door.

“So have you
heard?!” Luna whispered to Selena.
“Heard what?”
“About Gill!”
“No, what
about him?”
“He was
raped just last night!”
“My
goodness, what a juicy piece of gossip! Who did it?” Selena purred.
“Well I
heard it was the doctor! Julius told Mayor Hamilton that he heard some weird
noises coming from Jin’s house, so he looked in the window and saw them there
together!” Luna cried excitedly.
“I never
would have guessed! What happened then?”
“It was
about five in the morning when Juli saw them. He ran straight to the mayor and
woke him up. Jin was captured and taken to the town square, where they’ll have
his trial this evening. I’m going, and you should too!” Luna said and dashed away.
“Hmmm, how
interesting…”
“I’ll be the
judge, since I’m the mayor. We do have a jury consisting of townsfolk here, so
let’s begin,” Hamilton announced from a makeshift podium. Jin was standing in
the center of the plaza with the rest of the town making a ring about him. Gill
was considered mentally ill so his opinion didn’t count for anything, but he
insisted on being there. Calvin was Jin’s attorney, since he’d been off the island
before and seen an actual court.
“You, Jin,
are charged with raping Gill. How do you plead?”
“Not guilty.
I didn’t do anything, it was Julius who put the boy into such a state.”
“Do we have
any evidence?”
“I don’t
think we’re doing this right…” Calvin muttered.
“I’m a
witness!” called Julius. “I can say with all unbiased certainty that Jin is
guilty!”
“Your honor,
permission to speak?” Toby asked and Hamilton nodded. “Probably the one who
best knows Julius and Jin is me. Jin would never hurt anyone like that on his
life. Julius, however, is so determined to get what he wants that he wouldn’t
think twice about how his actions affect others. I know…I was once in a
relationship with him…”
A gasp of
shock rippled through the crowd.
“Blasphemy!
Toby is shamelessly lying to all of you! Look at the filthy dog!” cried Juli.
“Everyone
PLEASE!” Hamilton bellowed and the noise ceased. “That’s more like it. Now I’ve
had about enough of this. Jury, make your decisions.”
There was
the sound of pencil scratching against paper and then the jury dropped their
pieces of paper on the podium. The silence and tension was almost unbearable.
“Jin, the
court finds you…guilty! You are to hang by the neck until dead. Case dismissed!”
“Jee thanks,
Calvin. I’ll have to thank you again in hell,” Jin growled under his breath.
So bribing the jury really does work, Julius
thought to himself with the biggest smirk on his face.
A noose was
attached to a branch of the tree with the green flower and Jin was taken to
stand in front of it.
“Any last
words?” asked Juli, fingering the rope casually.
“Nooooo!”
Gill cried, breaking free of the crowd and throwing his arms around Jin’s
waist. He sobbed half with sadness and half with rage. “It’s n-not fair! Julius
is guilty! Why?!?”
“Shushhh, it’s
okay. Right now they won’t see the truth, but someday they’ll realize their
fault. For now you just have to be strong and carry on as best you can. Life
isn’t fair, but sooner or later the wicked will receive their just rewards.
Look away when they do it; I don’t want you to have to watch. Goodbye, Gill…”
Jin whispered and kissed the boy tenderly on the lips. “I love you…”
A pair of
strong hands grasped Gill’s arms and yanked him back. “Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!”
Gill
suddenly swung his head backwards, contacting directly with his captor’s nose.
His feet hit the ground and he took off running. The whole crowd but Julius
rushed after Gill, leaving Juli and Jin alone on the hill.
“If he shows
them where you were and signs of a struggle, then you’ll be found guilty,” Jin
said softly.
“I was
afraid it might come to this, so I prepared myself.” Julius jumped off onto the
beach and into a motorboat he had hidden there earlier. The boat roared to
life, sending Juli into the ocean and quickly out of sight.
“Jin! I
proved that Julius was guilty!” called Gill as he ran up, followed by the
townsfolk. “Hey, where did he go?”
Jin didn’t
reply but just kept staring out to sea. Gill looked up at Jin wonderingly.
“He…he’s
gone…and I couldn’t stop him…”
“Jin…?”
“He took a
motorboat out to sea and now he’s long gone…” Jin fell to his knees and looked
like he was on the verge of tears. “Now he’s free to do what he did to you to
others…” He picked himself up and shook his head. “No…I can’t let that happen!
I swear to the Harvest Goddess and any other beings there are out there, my
heart shall not be at ease until I put an end to Julius permanently!”
“Jin…if
anyone needs a good sleep, it’s you. Come on…” Gill said, guiding Jin home. The
doctor walked as if in a trance all the way. Gill got him to lie down, but he
continued to stare, transfixed.
“If you’re still alive in there somewhere, I love you Jin,” whispered Gill as he kissed Jin gingerly on the lips. Jin slowly closed his eyes and a smile touched the corners of his mouth. He was loved…

Jin awoke to
find Gill curled up in his arms, fast asleep. He gently moved Gill to the center
of the bed as he got up so the young man wouldn’t be awakened. A soft sigh
escaped Gill’s tender lips and he sat up.
“Good
morning,” smiled Jin.
“Morning,”
Gill replied cheerfully.
“Isn’t your
father concerned about you? Shouldn’t you be home?”
“He agreed
that I might recover more quickly if I was with you…”
Jin shrugged
and offered him some herbal tea, which he gladly accepted. They sat together
and chatted for a while and then it was time for Jin to go to work.
“Awww, do
you really have to go?” asked Gill.
“Sorry,
that’s the way it is. Go talk to Toby or something, I’m sure he’d like the
company.” Jin stood at the door and looked back to see Gill’s forlorn
expression. The doctor sighed, smiled, and kissed Gill sweetly. “See you later.
Love you.”
“I love you
too,” Gill said, stretching up to kiss Jin. He waved goodbye and the doctor was
gone. “Now what do I do? They won’t let me go back to work yet… I suppose I’ll
go see Toby.”
Gill walked
down to the seashore where Toby was casting his line.
“Hey. Sorry
about Julius and all that…” Toby frowned.
“No, it’s
fine. He’ll get what’s coming to him eventually. How’ve you been lately?”
“Same old,
same old. Want me to give you an art lesson, if you’ve got the time?” asked
Toby, pulling out his sketchbook and a pencil.
“Sure, I
have nothing better to do today.”
All that day
Toby taught Gill about art, then they chatted, and to round the day off they
went fishing.
“Thanks for
hanging out with me while Jin was at work today,” Gill smiled.
“Anytime,
Gill. Why don’t we hang out again tomorrow when Jin goes to the clinic? You can
have one of my sketchbooks and a few pencils in case you’re ever bored.” Toby
gave Gill some art equipment and sent him on his way with one of his classic
Toby smiles. When Gill got home he hesitated at the door. Maybe he’d stay with Jin
one more night… He ripped out a piece of paper and scribbled “At Jin’s” on it
before dropping it in the mailbox and heading back down the road.
“Hey, Gill.
You spending the night again?” Jin asked after Gill knocked on the door and the
doctor let him in.
“If that’s
okay with you...”
“Of course.
You’re always welcome here. I was going to watch a movie tonight, but you can
join me,” smiled Jin. Soon they were on Jin’s couch under a blanket with the
lights off and a bowl of popcorn on the floor next to them. Gill had to lay on
top of Jin since the couch was small, but neither of them minded. Gill rested
his head on Jin’s shoulder and sighed contentedly. Jin tried his luck by
wrapping an arm about Gill’s waist, which brought forth a shudder.
“Sorry,” Jin
apologized, returning his arm to where it was.
“No, it’s
okay,” sighed Gill, putting his head on Jin’s chest. Jin petted Gill’s head
softly and went back to watching the movie.
Miles away,
Julius was plotting how he could steal back Gill, and soon…

My Opinions
Another Wonderful Life (Gamecube):
The quality is nice and it has some gorgeous characters (like Rock...and Rock...and did I mention Rock?). I like that your child grows and can become one of the following: artist/musician/barkeeper/animal farmer/plant farmer etc. depending on who your friends are. It's fun to raise the child from toddler to child to teen to adult. However, the bachelors aren't the greatest in the world...
Rock: Sculpted by angels, but he's a lazy good-for-nothing. I know; I married the guy ;P. His son is pretty cute though, as rebellious as he is because his old man is worthless. Probably the saddest moment in the game is when Rock's hair turns grey and he starts to get wrinkles. I cried.
Marlin: He's sweet and shy, but he has a chin like a can opener. Christ, he could take an eye out with that thing! His child has got to be the most adorable child there's ever been, though. He looks like Cain from Godchild except his eyes are blue! It's kinda sick to be drooling over your son, huh...God I'm a monster! But still! -droooooooooool-
Gustafa: Yay hippy! He's easy to please and he's got the most awesome purple sunglasses and the coolest giant green hat! Huzzah for awesome hats (has a collection of hats that is growing frequently)! His kid is relatively cute, as far as kids go. He's one of the few characters whose hair doesn't turn grey!
Another flaw is that there's no wedding ceremony, and they never kiss. It's just all of a sudden you're married and with a toddler. Weeeeeeird...O.o
Friends of Mineral Town (GBA):
The story and plot are a little boring and repetitive. I started this game in the sixth or seventh grade when my friend Emily and one of my crushes, Tyler, were going out. I named my character Tyler and decided he's going for Elli (seeing any similarities?).
So I played three mother f***ing years and expanded my house as much as I could when all of a sudden the carpenter decides he's out of inspiration. I may not be a carpenter, but I don't think it takes vast amounts of inspiration to do a basic house upgrade. I just want it to be a little bigger so Elli can't say she "can't leave the doctor's side". Yea, I bet she can't. Especially when he does her in the middle of the night against her will. Hmph. Isn't it just a wee bit odd that at the top half of the clinic their rooms are right next to each other? It wouldn't be hard for him since her room is too small for her to run in. Those walls are awfully close together...Suspiiiiiiicious. That's the sort of thing I think about when there's a bad storm and nobody can leave their houses and it's too windy to hear any screams...
So I've decided I'd rather go for Ann anyways. Of course, since Elli still loves me I'm more than willing to go to her house for dinner during the Starry Night Festival. Teehee.
P.S. I badmouth the Doctor, but in every game where I play as a girl I fall for him right away...I LUFF YUUU DOCTOR!!!!!! -fangirl squeal-
Magical Melody (Gamecube):
I have yet to play this game, but I've read about it as much as possible. The fact that there are twenty-one total eligible spouses is promising, but I dislike that once your child is a toddler they stay that way forever.
Probably the one who creeps me out the worst is Jamie. Jamie is a rival farmer, but in either gender game you can marry him/her/it. -shudder- I think I'll call it a him so I can fulfill my sick yaoi fantasies. And another thing; if you marry Jamie the game ends there without a child being born. I insist that Jamie is an it! Uggh... -shudder-shudder-shudder-
Tree of Tranquility (Wii):
I've just started this game, and I like the style except that their noses bug me. I dislike how rushed it is (hah, I've always complained that the HM games are slow and boring, so I guess I had a game like this coming to me). I hate how ginormous the island is. I'm always getting lost and it takes me forever to get where I'm going. I also dislike how much energy it costs to do basic fieldwork and how hard it is to find people you haven't met yet.
On the flipside, I enjoy how much energy you have and that just moving around doesn't deplete it. I like that you can actually see how much strength you have left and how much daylight is left.
Most of the bachelors are okay. I like the one I swear is gay (Julius), the laidback fisherman (Toby), the Mayor's saucy son (Gill), and the doctor (Jin). There are quite a few bachelors, but most of them are "fodder", as I like to call them (they're just there to prevent the town from being empty).
Julius: "What might look like a woman at first is actually a conceited
pretty-boy who fancies himself a fashion expert. He enjoys carving
metal, making jewelry and greatly enjoys being the center of attention.
He is known for being a bit self-centered because of his strong sense
of beauty." He's a true fashionista! Gracie would grovel at his feet if Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon met. Man, now I have to turn that into a fanfic! Anyways, Julius is very appealing to me because he's so funny! It comes from being extraordinarily self-centered, I suppose. I see him as a seme because he's so forward in getting what he wants.
Toby: Toby is a relaxed fisherman who takes my view on life that if life gives you lemons, don't let it bug you and go do something you enjoy. Personally, I envision Toby as an artist instead of a fisherman, so that may be what he is in my fanfics. Toby looks like a cross between Ichimaru from Bleach and Near from Death Note, as sick as that would be -having very bad mental images-. But don't let that put you off; Toby is very attractive despite his...questionable lineage. Oh dear, I feel a very bad yaoi crossover fanfic urge coming on... The way I imagine Toby's love life attitude is Soubi's from Loveless. I see Toby as a seme because he seems to be the type that's practiced in the ways of the world.
"Judge Turpin:
Oh yes... such practices. The Geishas of Japan, the concubines of Siam,
the catamites of Greece, the harlots of India. I have them all here,
drawings of them. Everything you've ever dreamed of doing with a woman.
Would you like to see?
Anthony Hope:
I think there's been some mistake.
Judge Turpin:
I think not. You gandered at my ward, Johanna. You gandered at her. YES, sir, you gandered!
Anthony Hope:
I meant no harm.
Judge Turpin:
Your meaning is immaterial. Mark me! If I see your face again on this street, you'll rue the day you were born." (is quoting Sweeney Todd)
Oh noes, this can't end well...
My 3+1=? chars. reasoning
Julius is just after Gill for an easy fuck. He likes the young, innocent types because he says they make the most delightful noises...
Toby is still a little mysterious. I think he wants to be in love with Gill, and he wants to teach him how to relax a little. Well, admittedly he'd very much like to sleep with Gil, if that even makes a difference at this point...
Jin wants to be able to protect Gill from people like Julius. He doesn't care if they never get into a relationship, he just wants to be there for Gill when the going gets rough. He does like Gill and hopes the feeling becomes mutual, but it's okay if he just takes on an "older brother" role.
